Innovative Company

In my oppinion the most innovative company in Downhill biking is Trek. I find this because they spend a lot of their money into developing new inventions and such. Trek World Racing just announced that they would be dropping their Cross Country team and all teams that didnt involve the gravity side of riding. They will be keeping their Slope Stlye/Freeride team andof course their World Cup winning Downhill team with Aaron Gwin. Aaron Gwin (we normaly just call him Gwinny) is the all american Trek Downhill who has won many many World Cup races and he even won a World Cup over all before the season was even over. Trek has been focusing on creating world class Downhill bikes. Their main Downhill bike is the Session 9.9. The frame is completly carbon, meaning that the frame is very strong and also very light. The complete stock Trek Session 9.9 weighs in at just around 27 lbs. This is A super light Downhill bike, most All Mountian bikes weigh more than this Downhill bike! The suspension on this bike is very plush and amazing. The stock build comes with Kashima coated Fox 40’s and a Kashima coated DHX-RC4, these are two of the most renouned Downhill shocks. If you decided to build up a ustom frame you could probaly build it up even lighter. Trek is also focusing on Slpoe Style riding. The center point to Trek’s Team is Brandon Semenuk. Trek will be comming out with a new SS bike. Their team is already riding them. Semenuk already put his to good use by winning the FMB world tour.
I believe that Trek is exetreamly innovative in the world of Downhill and SS.

Cam Zink's Canyon Gap Fall

Fall

This fall there is a lot going on freeride wise.  Red Bull Rampage just happened this weekend and Kurt Sorge won.  It was a very crazy Rampage this year with a few extremely hard falls. Cam Zink ate it hard on the 60 foot canyon gap this year and Mike Hopkins over shot a step down by 20 feet and his wheels came off then he fell very hard.

Biking Apps

There are several apps centered around biking one of the ones I like the most is the Every Trail.  Using the GPS on the IPhone it calculates how far you biked, how fast and what altitude.

about me

I am 14 years old and i love to ride freeride and downhill.  My favorite local trails are Kneecap, it recived that name after a profesional downhill rider broke his kneecap riding this trail, another trail i love is hinter’s trail, and last but not least happensburger or sunshine as it is known is my final favorite local trail.  I could only get in 7 days so far at my my local bike park Northstar,  however the last time i was riding there i saw Tyler McCaul riding his carbon GT Fury.  I am hoping to get a few more days in before the end of the season.  The bike i am currently riding is a 2011 Mongoose Boot’r fully custom, however i am selling it for $1150 and i will soon be buying a 2011 Specialized SX Trail off of pinkbike.  Once i get this I am hoping to get more into jumping and the freeride side of riding instead of the downhill.
